Robert Rauschenberg (1925 - 2008)

Robert Rauschenberg (Port Arthur, Texas, 1925 – Captiva Island, Florida, 2008) was one of the most prolific contemporary American creators. Throughout a career spanning almost sixty years, he has played with the most diverse mediums such as painting, photography, sculpture, performance and printmaking. Rauschenberg's pictorial works always involve techniques far removed from painting, such as screen printing, collage, transfer and printing. On his canvases he used a wide variety of materials such as canvases, boards, fabrics, metal plates, methacrylate, plaster and paper.
